Priest Training Fund – Second Collection 11th May 2025

The priesthood has always been essential to the life of the Church, from the time of Jesus until today. Good Shepherd Sunday we celebrate today is the day we pray for vocations, for our priests, and take up the Priest Training Fund second collection. The fund pays for the formation of men to become priests in our Diocese.

After their ordination, our priests dedicate their lives to serving Christ and His people in our parishes, hospitals, schools, chaplaincies, prisons and in service to the needy.
We are blessed to have 5 men in formation to the Priesthood for our Diocese. You can read about them clicking on the link https://www.abdiocese.org.uk/faith/seminarians
However, it costs £30,000 a year to sponsor each seminarian. They study for 6 years before being ordained a Catholic priest. We therefore rely on your generous support and prayers. Please support our priests of the future with a gift today. (Diocesan Gift Aid envelopes may be used). Thank you!

Holy Family Parish Hall Space

We are looking at the feasibility of creating a space at the Holy Family for parish hall-type activities. Clearly, we cannot replicate the presbytery hall; however, we believe there is both the need and desire for such a space. We will be providing pens/paper at 11.15am Sunday Mass on 18 & 25 May to get your thoughts with a meeting after 11.15am Mass at the Holy Family Church, Lancing on Sunday 8 June 2025.

If you wish to respond via email, please use holyfamilyparishhall@gmail.com For more information, contact Chris Burns : Email: chrisburns.lancing@gmail.com

IMPORTANT: CALLING ALL MINISTERS

If you exercise any ministry within the Church and are over 18, please make yourself known to Fr Irek or one of the deacons. We need to check our compliance with safeguarding rules in the Diocese and ensure DBS checks and other training is up to date. So, if you are an altar server, eucharistic minister, children’s liturgist or in any role that brings you into contact with either young people or vulnerable adults please let us know.

Prayer Friends

Each of our children preparing to receive their First Holy Communion in June needs a Prayer Friend, a parishioner who would pray for them and their family at this special time. If you feel you could do this, please write your name on a child’s name badge on the blue board in the Lady Chapel. Thank you.
