1/ SHOUT Helps those who are really struggling to feed their families and the homeless. If you can spare an extra item from your shopping, please donate it to SHOUT Worthing – Soup Kitchen. There are boxes for food donations at the church entrances of St Mary’s.
As we’re approaching Christmas many families can’t afford to provide presents for their children, if you have any they would be very grateful, also any Christmas food. Holy Family also support a similar charity. http://www.worthingsoupkitchen.co.uk
2/ Matins Mission – Dominican Friars work among the poor & suffering in Jamaica For over a century, English Dominicans have been serving in the Church in the Caribbean in parishes, schools, chaplaincies, seminaries, and caring for the poor and oppressed. Our Province’s work in the Caribbean is supported by fundraising in the United Kingdom through the St Martin’s Mission fund, for which friars of the Province raise money chiefly through appeals in diocesan parishes. Our Parish tithed £1500 from the weekly collection to help them earlier this year. More information about them can be seen on their website St Martin’s Missions: Supporting Our Work in Grenada & Jamaica – The Dominican Friars in Britain or you can pick up a prayer card & leaflet at both churches
3/ Live Simply Tip of the week – Why not buy Fairtrade Christmas presents this year. There are many items available including jewellery, clothing, confectionery & drinks. Another idea for Christmas presents, CAFOD Christmas Catalogues, are available at the back of the church.
