1/ From CAFOD We would like to thank you for campaigning with us in this Jubilee Year about the global debt crisis. Debt is having a devastating impact on many of the world’s poorest countries, as their governments channel huge sums to rich western banks instead of funding schools and hospitals – and this year we joined together to call for urgent change, whether you signed the worldwide petition, wrote to your MP or came to an event.
The debt crisis has not been solved yet – but as campaigners across the world have made a huge noise about it, world leaders have responded by putting it on the agendas of their global summits, acknowledging that urgent action is needed. Thank you for being part of this.
Almost 45,000 of you signed the petition online or in church! 900 Catholic parishes and schools got involved this year.
We’ll continue campaigning on debt in 2026, pushing for action that would make a huge difference to people living in poverty. Thank you for being with us. CAFOD – Catholic international development charity
