NEWSLETTER ITEMS FROM THE JUSTICE & PEACE GROUP WEEK COMMENCING 23-4-23

From Worthing4Refugees https://worthing4refugees.org.uk/   It never ceases to amaze me that the Worthing people are so generous.  After requesting help for a van, less than 24 hours ago, this need has been met.  Thank you.
However, now the lady needs some extra furniture to furnish her flat.  Here is her message; if you can help, please contact her directly by text as requested:
We are a family from Ukraine (mum and 2 children).  After 11 months of living with a wonderful host family, we managed to rent an apartment in Worthing.  Now I am actively looking for furniture for us.  We need a single bed with a mattress (1), desks (2), chairs (2), wardrobes (2), a shoe rack, a clothes airer, a clothes rail.  We will gladly accept this furniture if you don’t need it.  Please text 07795909400 if you can help
Thank you so much for your support and concern for the refugees and asylum seekers in Worthing.

Live Simply Tip of the Week. From the Pope to Greta Thunberg, there are growing calls for the crime of “ecocide” to be recognised in international criminal law – but could such a law ever work?  Ecocide is destruction of the natural environment by deliberate or negligent human action.
