1/ Ebola in Democratic Republic of Congo: how CAFOD is helping

Our neighbours in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are suffering through an Ebola outbreak. There are now over a thousand suspected cases and millions of people at risk if the outbreak is not brought under control.

2/ From Worthing 4 Refugees One of our Ukrainian friends Olesia is organising a Shoebox appeal to link British children with Ukrainian children. There are 4 places you can drop off your shoeboxes, or contributions towards the shoeboxes:

  1. Homefield Primary School reception, 179A Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 2DG during school hours.

    b. St Charles Borromeo Church, Chesswood Road, BN11 2AE. Please contact Olesia directly on 07795909400 to arrange a suitable day and time to meet there.

    c. Olesia’s home in Worthing town centre.  Contact her on 07795909400 to arrange a suitable day and time to meet there.

  2. Christ Church, Grafton Road, Worthing, BN11 1QY. Drop-off times:
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: 10:30–12:30
  • Thursday: 14:00–16:00

Sunday: approximately 9:00–12:00, and on alternate weeks also 17:00–19:30

3/ Fr Silvester In last week’s newsletter it was mentioned that Fr Silvester has received the Ambulance that we sent last year.

The donations for the schools that we sent also arrived. Fr Silvester said “I was able to collect them yesterday and they are in our store. We await the EBOLA problem to calm down before we can give to the pupils”

5/ SHOUT There are boxes for food donations as usual at the church entrances of St Mary’s.   Holy Family also support a similar charity.
