1/ CAFOD Debt Campaign This summer the parishioners signed a letter asking for the cancellation of Debt to impoverished countries. Now is the start of phase 2. CAFOD are asking us to sign a new petition, there’s an explanatory letter with the petition from Cardinal Mulla of Sudan. Petitions each end of St Mary’s & in the Gathering Rood at Holy Family

2/ Live Simply Tip of the week Fit more active travel into your day and daily routine. As the summer progresses it’s worth considering what journeys can be made by walking or cycling. Could you get off a stop early to walk the rest of your journey, take a relaxing stroll home, or hop on a bike and enjoy a cycle friendly route? If you prefer exploring outdoors on foot, find out if there’s a local Ramblers group. These are great things to do except in the exceptionally hot weather we’ve just experienced
3/ SHOUT There are boxes for food donations as usual at the church entrances of St Mary’s. Holy Family also support a similar charity.
4/ Fairtrade The people behind our favourite food and drink are dealing with the extremes of climate change – a crisis that they didn’t cause.
It’s having a direct impact on farming and production – putting our morning coffee, chocolatey snack and our pick-me-up banana all under threat.
We’re spotlighting these people and need your help to amplify the message – calling for business that’s Fair on the Planet.
It’s time for action please sign the petition Fair on the Planet
Our parish has supported Fairtrade for many years
